Santa’s Workshop, Southern Branch, has been humming along at a fever pitch making all sorts of goodies to take to the Fair next week.
I wanted to take a quick break to show you the starting points of several projects that have been in the works. These have all now been finished (yay) but I have not photographed them.
This is how I started a wreath named “Pink Dove.”
A beautiful German wax angel dressed in brocade, a Fontanini cherub, and a Jewelbrite angel ornaments were the jumping off points for “Angel Blue.”
The lovely colors of the sea were the inspiration for “Sea Green.”
I wanted to make something pretty spectacular to take with me and I fished out this vintage metal peacock that I purchased at an antique mall a couple of years ago. This turned out to be a much more challenging project than I anticipated but the end result has quite a wow factor (at least I think so). This one is called “Pretty as a Peacock.”
And, finally, this is a finished wreath, a small one (about 15″ diameter) named “Little Elfie.” So much fun packed into a small package.
I’ll be back with pictures of the finished products in a few days. Until then, stay cool. It is projected to get to 100 degrees here today!!!!! It’s September, isn’t summer supposed to be on the wane?

Oh, how I wished I lived near you. I’d have one for every door in the house and would have to renew them every year. Your work is absolutely delightful.

Dear Hugh, my, how I wish you lived near me, too! And not just because you would have a wreath on every door but because I do think we might get on like a house on fire. Thank you so much for your nice comments. Cackie
PS I am coming to Ireland(!) next June to visit – not too terribly far from you!

So do I, Crackie. I’ve just won some vintage 1970’s christmas tree lights on eBay and I can’t wait to get them. I’m coming over to the States in November but only visiting New York. We are going to see the Rocketts Christmas Show at Radio City. I saw it a few years back and had to come and see it again 🙂

New York City at Christmas time is really something! I hope you have fun. It’s not so very far from Virginia. Please send a picture of your vintage tree when you get it done – I would love to see it! Oh, and have agreat time with the Rockettes!
