On the Road Again with New Stuff

Unknown

On Wednesday, I will be hitting the road to Westminster, MD  for one of my favorite shows, The Mistletoe Mart.  The show is at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension and runs Thursday and Friday, Nov 9 & 10, from 10 AM until 8 PM and Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10 until 4:30.  Please click here for The Mistletoe Mart website, where you will find all the information you need. I hope I’ll see you!

++++++++++++

I’ve been very busy in the workshop creating new product since I returned from Atlanta.

Take a peek at some of it.

First up is a new wreath named “Santa’s House.”  I thought I would share some pics of how it took shape for you.

I began with this charming Santa from Japan:

He still had his price of 39 cents stamped on his bottom!  Then I added this a Japan putz house…

Followed by a bunch of  other things…

Santa's House

I love how he turned out. There’s a lot of charm in one package with this one.

Next, I began a wreath with a fabulous HUGE Shiny Brite bell that I have been saving.  It’s a whopping 5 inches tall!

That’s my sweet girl, Emma P, looking at you.  After I got the bell situated on the top of the wreath, I set about filling things in…

I used this fabulous double-sided gold spray with silver leaves just above the bell.  I wanted to use soft colors with this one: pastel pinks, greens, golds, and blues with a little bit of bright poppy colors here and there.  This is the finished product, “The Golden Bell.”

It’s a bucket full of sweet. Did you notice that there is one pink and one blue angel? The overall effect is a bit more subdued than in this photo – it’s really a lovely confection.

I’ve spent the last couple of days making some little things to take with me.  I don’t know what it is but making the tiny topiaries is the most fun and makes me incredibly happy. Don’t get me wrong, making wreaths is a wonderful process but the little delights are just that – delightful.

Have a look at a few of them (Please click on them to see bigger and read description):

And, finally, check this out. It’s a metal wall pocket from 1976 with a Japan terrier, tree, ornaments, and vintage ribbon.  I love this! Please pardon the ghastly color from my fluorescent lighting…

All of these goodies will be going with me to Westminster!  Come and get ’em!

And have a wonderful night, everyone! Back soon…
