The Workshop is Humming

Has it been raining where you are? IMG_5727

I can’t remember so much rain during May but, honestly, as a gardener, I’m not complaining….yet.  I also am loving the cool temps. I’m not someone who adores the hot and humid of Richmond in summer.  It can take its time getting here.

I’ve been feverishly getting ready for the Country Living Fair coming up in Rhinebeck, NY, in the beautiful Hudson valley.  Are you coming? I hope so!

Get your tickets now!  Click here to go there.

I’m keeping everything crossed that I possibly can cross that nothing comes up between now and June 1 (when we hit the road).  We continue on the almost daily rounds of doctor appointments, physical therapy, etc.  Driving Mr. Daisy has been just fine, though.  I do believe he is feeling better and he looks really good – all very encouraging.  I don’t want to get overly confident as we are still in that first year when anything can – and may – happen. If you’ve a  mind to, keep some positive thoughts going for us – we appreciate it more than we can say.

My faithful friend has been watching over me as I toil in Santa’s workshop. IMG_5678 (1)

How lucky I am.

As it stands right now, I will be bringing NINE full-size wreaths to the show, the Golden Halo topiary, and bunches of “tiny topes.” Like this little one with a pine cone elf in a teacup.IMG_5711

Because of the rain, I have not yet photographed the new wreaths properly ( I prefer to shoot them outside in natural light) but I can show you some iPhone pics of 5 of them in process.

This first one is so pretty – I love the soft colors. She is called “Shabby Sweet.”

I just finished this one yesterday. It has that huge poinsettia bell on the bottom – the one that is a music box which plays “Silent Night.”  It makes quite a statement.

Then there is this one that is all hot pinks and bright golds.  It’s called “Palomino Pink.”

This cutie pie is called “Harlequin Hugger.”

And, finally, there is this one as I was just geting going on it. It is about 90% finished at this point.  I hope to complete her tomorrow. She is all blues, magentas, and golds – really pretty so far!

I’m hoping the sun will shine Monday so I can photograph them all.  I’ll post pictures for you and you can compare them to what you see here.

Have a terrific weekend everyone and stay dry!  I’ll leave you with another photo of my sweet girl. xoIMG_5721
