I’m Just a Whirling Dervish

I feel terrible for not chiming in here for ages to say hi to all my blog friends.  Truth is, I am overwhelmed.  But in a good way.  This is peak season for me, as you might imagine, with the Christmas goose waddling along in its inexorable journey towards December 25.

I have wanted to share with you stories of Country Living Fair Atlanta – which was terrific.  I met so many fun people, the weather was darn near perfect, and we just had a grand, if tiring, time.  As always, the creativity of the other vendors and artisans at the Fair was off the charts. Phylliss and I made a couple of stops on the way home to do a little antiquing; we also stopped at Replacements in North Carolina.  Have you ever been there?  It is an amazing place – but dangerous for a chinaholic like me!  No wonder the normally 9 hour drive home took 12!

I was tempted...but the price tag put me off just a smidge. Whoa nelly. Still they are fabulous.

I have been working on commissions and still have some to do in between shows.  These 2 commissioned pretties are heading south to Florida for the winter.

The Church of the Ascension, Westminster, MD. Home of the Mistletoe Mart.

Tomorrow, I set off for Westminster, MD for the Mistletoe Mart.  I wrote a blog piece about it last year.  If you are in the neighborhood of Maryland, DC, etc., why don’t you stop by and say hello?  I’d love to see you.  The show runs Thursday, Nov. 6th – Saturday, Nov. 8th.

IMG_2738I’ve also had really exciting things happening.  In September, R-Home Magazine (a spin-off of the local Richmond Magazine) asked me to create a Christmas place setting for an article about holiday table settings.  I made a big centerpiece and mounted it on a vintage silver plate tazza, plus some smaller topiaries.  My setting was all pastel pinks and silvers with a touch of aqua thrown in.  The Nov/Dec issue just came out – I am very excited to see it in actual print!  If you click here, you can see the real magazine pictures full size.

These are some of what I made for the magazine shoot. Click on them to see them bigger.

There is lots more exciting news on the horizon but right now, I’ve got to get back to work.  I will check in later.

Hope you all had a happy Halloween.  Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here?  Yikes.

Feel free to say hi in the comments – I love hearing from you.
