Good Christmas Eve to you. I hope you are all settled in and feeling cozy.
I’m very happy to report that Mr Transplant got out of the hosiptal the evening of Day 20 and is now ensconced at home while he works toward recovery. Thank you to everyone who prayed, sent positivity, and love to us. I know it helped. We are extremely and eternally grateful to you.
I did get 1 tree up this year and the house decorated. It is a slimmed down version of normal but it is more than enough to cheer us up and feel like we are, in fact, in the season of Christmas. What a difference that makes.
Because of a certain new little member of the household, I decided to let all my old glass friends get in another year’s beauty sleep. As much as I miss their company, it turns out that this was a good year to slim down on preparations.
So, I put up the little “Charlie Brown” tree that was in the dining room last year. Here’s a photo in case you’ve forgotten:
This one was almost entirely vintage and antique ornaments with a few new German repros that I had purchased in 2018 on my trip to the Christmas Markets in Europe.
In 2020 I wanted to go the unbreakable route.
Here are my raw materials:
There are 53 of these gorgeous Fauxbergé ornaments. I purchased them from a Glow friend in Nebraska, thinking that I would use them in my work. But when I got them and saw just how fabulous they really are, I began to dither as to whether or not I ought to decorate a tree with them. Enter one kitten and the decision was made.
And here is how it turned out!
And here you can see why I made this move!
Merry Christmas everyone!
